For all those who say General Powell endorsed Barack Obama because of race, to any and all of them, by name: George Will, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Pat Buchanan, etc., I too invoke the name of an American hero: Cpl. Kareem Rashad Sultan Khan, winner of the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart, a true American Hero, who gave more than John McCain ever did for America. Kareem gave his life for America...

A Stryker Brigade Mom writes: "Words can never express how much my heart is breaking for you. My son has been serving with Kareem and was a friend of his. Although I never met your son, I feel like he is a part of my family because he was a friend of my son.

Kareem is also a wonderful example of what this country should stand for. A brave young man who loves his country and is willing to fight to protect her. He is a true American hero.

I am a Muslim and am an American. Khan did the right thing. He went there to fight against terrorists who kill and maim all whether they are Muslims or not. I am proud of the service he has done for our country.

I am a citizen of the u.s. and I am a muslim. He fought for the country he grew up in and I'm sure he did not do it to fight against islam. He must have joined the army like alot of christians and jews not only for service, but for the help the government gives them in return like school etc. theres no need for you to be so harsh to someone whom you dont know, and speaks kindly. He himself believed he was going to make a difference for peace. While the overall picture of our government may not have been like this, the soldiers who leave think that they are going to "protect freedom." And many of them do humanitarian acts in the country. I am not making excuses for the war in Iraq, but you don't blame the pawns you blame the player. I have no problem with American soldiers, if anything they are victims of our governments actions.

American army is not there to protect Afghan/ Iraqi Civilians or to do any good deeds, they are there to kill Innocent People, If you were after Osama in Afghanistan he is not there anymore , Saddam is also dead

I'm 15 years old, an American, and a Muslim. In the future I wish to make it in politics, to make a national change. I used to think that being a Muslim, it would put me at a great disadvantage, because no matter how much I told people that the Muslim stereotypes are false, I would still be singled out. =_) Now, I think its possible for me to make it into politics, and help change my nation as an American patriot who is a proud Muslim.
