Bravo! Cheers from Brazil

I was working as a classical DJ in college, when an "all things considered" came on right after my concert show. I remember hearing on the show that he was at that time 75. They played him singing "Cortigianni" and he sounded like a 40 year old Robert Merrill. My voice teacher, who knew him said he was self-taught. Wikipedia doesn't bear this out. But maybe there was a point, early or late when he took on his own technique. He began as a cantor.

Overwhelming in every way. Thank you
for keeping his gorgeous flame alive!!
He had a voice like a lush sable coat...
sink down in its posh loveliness.
Gorin had a number of gorgeous arrangements of this kind of material which he sang with such heart. I heard him in his late 60's and he sounded almost the same as this earlier record. Mi Part is my favorite.

I have a whole record of this kind of repertoire with Gorin. I will post some more. He was great even in his 70's. I heard several recitals at the University of Arizona where he was teaching.
