This was the student film for my 3nd Year Animation Class at the School of Visual Arts. Our assignment was to design, produce and animate a fully complete film at least thirty seconds in length. The production for this cartoon began at the start of the second semester, in January 2010 and finished several weeks ago. The concept came from a video clip found by Scott Frerichs, about a tiger that was too scared to come down from its artificial habitat in a Christian zoo, while another tiger looks up at him, confused. Scott recorded a short voice clip, making a conversation between the two Tigers. I asked if I could animate it into a quick cartoon and here's what we got!

Thanks very much to Scott for the idea, thanks to Celia Bullwinkle, Mike Ruocco and everyone in my Animation Workshop that helped support and give feedback while the cartoon was being worked on. Enjoy the show :]

  • SO cute ^_^

  • Do you feel SVA has adequately prepared you for the competitive animation industry? I was thinking about SVA but not sure they instill enough fundamentals like CalArts.

  • @CartoonZack either way this is a christian zoo

  • I watched this with the "Transcribed audio" and I like the last line. Also for a moment I thought you did the cat up top, well good work, also fantastic work on parody rangers.

  • The animation is wonderfully smooth, but you should work on your animals.
