Harvest Home / Boys of Bluehill (tin whistle, guitar)

I recently discovered my passion for playing hornpipes so here is "The Harvest Home" followed by "The Boys of Bluehill". I have a lot of fun playing these tunes.

Now the usual excuses:

We made two takes and although in the other I don't make all the mistakes that I make in this one, somehow I find this one a bit more enjoyable. Moreover I apologize for not making variations (to decrease repetitiveness), but I started playing these tunes only recently.

My brother doesn't know what guitar backing technique should be used for hornpipes so he made up some neat strumming, as you can see...

This is really excellent - I was looking for the Big Country song, but I love this. Makes me wonder what it would sound like with someone like the Pogues of the Dubliners belting out a song on top of it.
