Alot of stuff happened there. Many people got murdered. About a month ago a old homeless woman got burned and almost died, and a homeless young man passed away on a bustop bench.

One of the real reasons Van Nuys turned black and brown? White women stopped having children. They wanted college and careers and money, not families. The reason there were so many young white people on the strip back in the 70s and early 80s? = Their mothers were part of a generation where women got married, settled down, and had kids. And as someone pointed out, the GM plant provided jobs for the white fathers of these Southern Cal kids in the 70s and 80s.
