This platoon must have pissed off the Senior Drill Instructor to have the guidon bootbanded like that. I remember when my platoon boogered the Rifle Range, my Senior Drill Instructor Sgt. Simington took our guidon, and threw it into a mud puddle, and one of the green belts stomped all over it. SDI Sgt Simington then ordered that we all give up a pair of boot bands and we had our guidon totally covered in bootbands! Such was the penalty for embarrassing the Senior Drill Instructor.
