One of two Conquest .15's I sent to Ron Young/SPR Racing for rework. New bearings, ABC piston/liner, Nelson plug head. The new P/L set uses stock timing, it's not a hop-up per se except for the fact it's not ancient metallurgy.

This is my the first run, but it was bench run by Ron before being sent back. Original Perry carb and expansion muffler as supplied with the RC version, a little restrictive but the engine still makes plenty of power. Fuel is 15% nitro syn/cas sport fuel with castor added to 23% total oil (1/2A brew actually). I needled it just into a clean 2 cycle, there are likely a few rpm left on top but not this run. RPM crept up to 22,900-23,000 while still on the fat side of 2-cycling. Prop is an old Bartels 7x3.5 glass-fibre Cox copy, which was a standard prop in FAI free flight "back then" as in the '70's. Low end needs a tweak but that can wait, and you can see some hesitation on throttle-up. I was only concerned with setting the top end for a 2 minute run this time around.

So far - I like it!
