Whalom Park Amusement Company, Lunenburg, MA was sold to a land developer - to make way for a 240 unit 'Gated' condo complex. All but a couple of buildings and rides including the 'Comet' Roller Coaster have been torn down and removed completely. Even the paved parking lots are all but a memory. Video was taken 11/20/06

I just moved back to MA after 6 years of being gone. I cried when I drove by here. Such a disaster that some place so special is torn down for greed. It wasn't the best park but it was our park and we loved it. It's a shame I won't be able to take my daughter there like past generations in my family.

Yeah, six flags, nice option isn't it,loaded with Springfield and Hartford gangsters in the summer, why bother, at least we have special memories of places like this burned in our minds, at least we have that , right?

I used to love the Pirate's Den. Then it burned down. I lost almost all interest in the place since.
They failed to keep up with the times, and that did them in. They got new rides when they were "happening" (apperently, their mindset) way after such rides peaked in popularity. Canobie did a good job of keeping up, and keeps them going. That, and being too far from 6 Flags.
