Archie Bunker shirt and everything.
Now how's about the drug PSA he did about his son Hugh?
Carroll and Hugh RIP!

@johnissoevil That is what some people do not understand, that the "love-ability" of this character was Mr O´Connor himself, not Archie.
The real "Archie´s" of this world are neither funny nor lovable.

@IceManNYR That was aired back in 1979.

I like the way O'Connor leaves this open. If one watched every episode of 'All In The Family' and sanctioned out any number of moments,it would in fact be very possible to showcases how Archie Bunker's bigotry had "spoiled his life-small and large". One way I can tell you right off is Archie was almost always grumpy about something. Doesn't seem bigotry made him any happier. One of the better conceived PSA's I've ever seen.

This is the real Carroll O'Connor. People who are highly anti-racist are excellent at portraying racists. O'Connor was a good man who helped everybody and helped fight racism through his portrayal of Bunker as an idiot. Henry Rollins played a Neo-Nazi in Sons Of Anarchy and he abhors racism in real life. Again, he played the part to show how awful racists are.

Love it.

@NJNightfire2003 Oh yeah! Didn't know about him being an English professor, but very cool! It's similar to Henry Winkler being the polar opposite of Arthur Fonzarelli: Well-educated (graduated with high honors with a Master's degree from the Yale School of Drama), extremely well-spoken, a cultured intellectual and a total gentleman. I always love dichotomies like that! :-)

@ryadams91 It could possibly have been originally a PSA for the Metromedia stations that owned WNYW before Fox took over in 1986.

Sherman Hemsley should have done this too. Like Carroll O'Connor said here,"It's one thing to play a bigot on TV,and it's another to be a real-life one." Bigotry never helped O'Connor's alter ego Archie Bunker's life. Or the life of Hemsley's alter ego George Jefferson. RIP COC 8/2/1924-6/21/2001

Wow this is surreal

@tomorrowsboy7 Exactly - you were supposed to laugh AT Archie, now WITH him.

@TrekkieAlex I doubt it, because you can look at O'Connor and tell he wasn't 66 here. He looks more like in his 50s, when the show was airing.
Are you sure this is from 1990?

@snoopy64116 It aired in 1990 but it may have been produced earlier.
