These are some of the sea birds of Okaloosa Island, FL in their natural habitat. I sat watching them for about two hours. They never left this little tidal pool along the edge of our Gulf of Mexico beach. I read somewhere that: protective booms are not placed near beaches because it's easier to clean sand, and there are no sensitive wildlife habitats near the shoreline. A picture is worth a thousand words.
