Blacks are quite willing to adopt the psychopathy themselves. When they abandon traditional ways and farm and ranch they consider lions pests and exterminate them. Also, black poachers have nearly exterminated rhinos, the few remaining are guarded by soldiers, elephants are next. I'm not excusing what the Brits did but they were kicked out and there's no excuse for blacks to continue what they did.

The lions recognize the Maasai. They know the Maasai caare dangerous and don't want to fight. Maasai are excellent hunters. They have been doing it for centuries. I wouldn't want to be the guy carrying the hindquarter though.
