A head to head chronograph comparison of the 2012 Hoyt Vector 32 RKT, the 2012 Hoyt Carbon Element RKT, and the Mathews 2012 HeliM.
IBO for the Hoyt bows is 330. IBO for the Mathews is "up to 332". Draw weight is 70 lbs on all bows, and draw length is 29.25 on all bows. Arrow weight is 396.

  • The HeliM is not even close to the 70 lb max. Judging from the gap between the riser and the limbs, there is at least a full turn left. Cloud account for some of the speed difference

  • @johngauchat The HeliM is actually exactly at 70 lbs, just like the other bows. Helim may actually have been closer to 71. Tested on a professional shop draw weight scale.

  • Those mathews limbs are backed off. Most of my mathews bows have been 2lbs over there advertised weight when maxed out. So I could see backing them off some if that were the case. Those look like they are backed off quite a bit though. How did you measure the draw weight on all 3?

  • @Andrew0099 Yes, they are backed out. The bow drew well over 70 lbs with the limbs maxed. We measured on the same accurate scale the shop has been using for years. It's legit. We had to turn it down to get it to 70. Matter of fact, the same goes for the hoyt bows. One maxed at about 75.

  • Mathews lies about the weight of their bows. That bow is likely over 4 lbs.

  • @Lynviking That has been the case in the past, but we weighted this one and it came in at 3.55 lbs.

There used to be a HUGE difference between what mathews advertised theor bows weight and what they actually weighed. Apparently, they have recently "remedied" that and now advertise the actual weight of their bows.

  • @Lynviking how do they lie?yeah there light until you put sights, quiver, stabilizer, arrows, and a rest on them.the helim is a light bow the z7 is a heavy bow but is awesome!i shoot the switchback which is pretty light.

  • i have the heli m, and with it all set up im shooting 318 fps.

  • @cmack003 Since when has mathews billed their bows on speed? They are always claiming to be smooth and efficient. The Monsters are the speed bows of the Mathews lines, and they smack hoyt and Bowtech with them. I don't even shoot a Mathews, but at least compare apples to apples....

  • Sorry Mathews SUCKS!!! same technology for three years and slow ass lumbering bows that have the most FUG-Ugly grips that induce torque ... just stupid looking bows every year from Mathews that make me want to go to Waffle House. Seriously... the Mathews all suck in 2012

  • Helim is for pussies

  • i hate the brand myopia associated with archery, if you can shoot it good, that's all that should matter. at three FITA indoor competitions i'v been to recently, people have laughed in my face when i said that i shoot an APA bow. i'm 16 and still manage to shoot mid 290's (outer ten) most of the time.

  • @tignorjt no, but i guess you took it a lil too serious. i believe the hoyt shot a little faster in the video. mathews and bowtech build on speed, hoyts are super quiet and match speed, or exceed according to this video.

  • @cmack003 So 10fps makes you SERIOUS?!?! In that case why not get even more serious and get a PSE or Bowtech?...... Se my point ;)

  • @caibarien71 The advertised speeds are at 30", 70lbs and 350gr arrow with NOTHING on the string.....

  • nice!!

  • @thebrockton. i would keep the z7 xtreme its a super nice bow.

  • Good vid. I shoot the Z7 Extreme and kinda wanna get the Element. Decisions, decisions.

  • funny they advertise speeds over 320-330 ,,, in real life you get barely 300 fps... maybe they shoot ultralight arrows when testing.

  • @Andrew0099 Almost all bows max out 2-5 pounds over their true draw weight when limbs are maxed out....

  • Get serious get Hoyt!

  • @XEffectOutfitters almost as hidious as you right?

  • @music5480 you are a fucking retard if you think hoyt and bowtech stand a chance for smoothness reliability and all around amazing

  • @frantic29 exactly hoyt is hidious

  • @jnalex55 all you have to do to take that out is put a ktech string stop and stabilizer on it and theres no vibration left in the heli-m

  • @TheHuntinfool69 well said

  • That boy needs to pull up his britches!
