@Jabo007Celt Yep :)

@SirCyrano Naturalistic? As in believing that all phenoma is sufficiently explained through science?

Great as the words of this speech are and good as Branagh is in delivering them, I still enjoy the reactions of his men even more, especially Brian Blessed's wolfish grin. The French herald makes good mileage of his few lines and manages to suggest he admires the King Henry's courage and regrets his certain defeat and possible death...his farewell is almost wistful. Good acting all round, in my opinion.

@mikedubya I'd follow my king to the death after that speech!

It's him.

I thought the same!

Was that a young Christian Bale there?

I love this clip because it includes the exchange with the Herald.
This movie is utterly brilliant-- it engages the audience completely.

And Shakespear and Henry V
Wow. What man wouldn't follow his king to hell after a speech like that?

Branagh did a brilliant job with this immortal speech: he managed to be both heroically eloquent and touchingly naturalistic, a formidable feat to pull off successfully. This speech (and the entire picture, for that matter) was dazzling on the big screen.
