From the lp Promises and Ties (1981). Apparently is Elvis Costello second´s favourite pop song ever (don´t know if it is true, anyway is a great power-pop song, similar to The Pretenders and Blondie).

  • Hi this is Rozzi x Does anyone know how to get my promo video onto CD so that I can load it on to this site? Sorry I am completely stupid when it comes to this sort of stuff xx

Thanks for all the great comments.

    Love Rozzi xx

  • It depends of the format of the video, it the format is vhs you can record it to dvd using a vhs player and a dvd recorder, the same way as if you were recording a tv program. Then you can insert the dvd in a pc and use some ripper software to convert it to flv, you can search in google 'How to rip DVD to YouTube FLV video' and follow the instructions:). You can use the software Clone2Go DVD Ripper for that.

  • Has anyone got Hey Girl ?? I have it on vinyl but no deck :(

    Great song :-)))))))))

  • To find the mp3 version of the album you can search in google these words:

    best kept secrets expressos.

Anyway I will try later to post the song here:)

  • Thanks :-)

I didn't have the LP , I just had the two singles, I think I liked the b-side as well but I cant remember what it was called....anyway thank you so much I would be THRILLED to hear it again, I didn't realise that it was on the lp. I like it on youtube tho cuz I brainwash my 5 year old daughter by making her watch Mummys songs :-)

    Thanks again :-)

  • I have just posted 'Hey Girl', you can find it in my last uploads:).

  • Around the time this single was released, Radio One was running a celebrity DJ programme on which some famous person would get to be a DJ for an hour (IIRC). When Elvis Costello was on, he played Tango in Mono and said it should have been number one. And how right he was.

  • I still can't understand why this wasn't a massive hit - brilliant to hear it again.

  • great havent heard this in yonks - should have been a hit

  • Same as above...fantastic song, still have the 45 but no turntable...great to hear it again!

  • I used to go and watch this band whenever they played at The Greyhound in Fulham Palace Road - always a great night - Bought this record too - good B side as I recall. Thanks for putting this on - brings back good memories
