Senator John F. Kennedy's old back injury gave him a great deal of pain. He underwent a series of spinal operations. Due to the fact that Kennedy suffered from Addisons disease, the surgery had to be preformed in two separate procedures in October 1954 and again in February 1955.

  • Addisons Disease is no joke. He may have succumbed to before 60 for all we know. But he was a gutsy guy during his tenure in the White House and tok no back seat to any enemy.

  • I didn´t know it was that bad- what horrible pains he must have had.

  • @govrom12 @NYVoice Who knows? I'm not sure I agree, especially after 12 years of FDR running the country (& WWII) from a wheelchair. Kennedy had his flaws - like every single US Pres before or since - but you can't question his intelligence, tenacity and ability to lead. Like him or not, if fate had allowed, he would have gotten 2 terms.

  • @moproducer Now that we know how sick JFK really was I always wondered, had he not been assassinated, how many years he would have lived once his presidency was over. It's safe to say that had his health information been more widely known at that time he would probably have never been elected president.

  • @decoysk he fucked alot of girls yes thats bad that we would do that to his wife but those were the times and he took after his dad. they were not perfect people but they still did amazing good things for us so i ask you to do YOUR homework and think before you write a very stupid and un thought out comment on youtube and makeing an ass of your self. you dont get through to ANYONE by screaming at them and saying "this is the truth and thats it end of story and if you dont think so your stupid"

  • @decoysk: Yeah, the Kennedys were not saints, but those who killed them are much, much worse!

  • TO HELL WITH ALL THE KENNEDY S! DO YOU HOMEWORK THEN COME BACK AND TELL WHAT GREAT PEOPLE THEY WERE !

  • He is such a great loss :(( I feel so sorry for him he was so strong and stood for what is right.

    You will always be remembered.

  • omg he is SO cute in this :D

  • @NYVoice The back injury, which caused him intense pain every day, the Addison's Disease which was unpredictable, and diverticulitus (resulting from swallowing seawater and gasoline at the PT 109 crash). Kennedy took huge doses of cortisone, long before medical science knew of the dangers of the drug. That alone might have killed him prematurely, if he hadn't been assassinated.

  • I knew he had back troubles and had undergone surgery but I had no idea last rights were given to him. I also didn't know he had Addisons disease. I have learned a lot.
