Well,its complicated to explain....to most he looks deformed...just to make a long story short....he's simply become to lazy/weak to swim making it appear to be a deformity....if this fish were properly handled and cared for ,he wouldnt be in this condition.

it is humped just before the dorsal fin. ive caught and seen thousands of cats and none looked quite like this one.

Actually the fish is deformed, go check out flatheads in the wild, sleeping beauties 2009, has tons of catfish and none look like this, probably due to stunted growth from too small a tank,when catfish get 50+ pounds the wild is best IMO. Flatheads can grow over 200 lbs, in the past. Fish like this belong wild and not in tanks
Theres one in Dallas at Cabelas that weighs in at 95 lbs

This one was only 50lbs. This was also the first time I have ever seen it swimming around. All the other times it just hides in the corner of the tank.
