Rose Marie Belforti is the Town Clerk in Ledyard, NY. Belforti believes that signing same-sex "marriage" licenses violates her faith. Rose is exercising her right under New York State Law to have her religious convictions reasonably accommodated, while still assuring that the law is equally upheld in her town. This is her story.

I agree with her 100% and I applaud her. YAH's law is clear and does not change. Marriage is a union (spiritual /legal) between a man and a union. The homosexual movement is anti-family, anti-YAH and anti-women. It is destructive to families and society. I do not support this movement and I will not vote for any candidate who endorses this destructive agenda. I voted straight Dem 37 years. ENOUGH!

She seems like a nice lady and I can appreciate that this law has left her in a difficult position BUT times change and we all change with it...or we should try to. I would argue that perhaps it is time she does leave her job and perhaps find other ways to help people. Help and not dictate who folks should be allowed to and not allowed to love. There are many truly awful things happening to the peoples of this planet...maybe time could be better spent than on this type of material?

Rose, I applaud your courage and beliefs. This law was FORCED on all of us in NYS who believe marriage is between one MAN and one WOMAN. We do outnumber that group of people who believe otherwise; that is why it was never allowed on a ballot so we could vote on it. It was shoved down our throats!!
