Max back squat attempt of 405 pounds ass to grass on 8/10/2008. Then Max Front squat attempt of 315 ass to grass. Training with the legendary Jay Monger for 48 weeks. Weighed in at 192 pounds.

  • Anyone who can ATG 315lbs is stronger than your average gym lifter. Anyone who can atg 405lbs is very strong in the core/lower body/posterior chain and is ready for serious athletic training. Anyone going 500lbs ATG is in the top 1% of people whove ever lifted somewhat seriously.

    True story. Im talking ROCK BOTTOM ATG not more than a foot off the ground here. As low as flexibilty(not strength) will allow with no weight.

    I have my brother working 5x5 and he hit 260lbsx5 PB tonight. Im proud!!

    Lots of people put 405lbs on the bar, go about 40% of the way to ATG down, and then think theyve just accomplished something...and they have. The will marginally make their over activated quads and hip flexors stronger. They will perpetuate an already(probably) imbalanced physiology where the leg is quad dominant and the glutes are weak.

    Thats why half the morons who claim to sq 500lbs have no hammies or ass and cant run or jump to save their lives.
