Pause the video when the first loco comes into view, then look to the left of the cab and just below the roof. A day or two ago this loco was working a coal train out of Invercargill when the dynamic brake grid caught fire. Leaves etc get into the grid and when the dynamic brake is used, a bit of heat is generated and a small fire can start. This happened to a loco in Auckland a few months ago, too.
@5irRatchet Apparently its common. Perhaps they don't clean the rubbish out of the brake grid very often?
