A simple Iodine test, the clear liquid after a short time turns blue/black, an amazing result as it happens so suddenlly. A-Level Chemistry lessons are so much fun! The chemicals required are:
12 ml of 0.1 M Potassium Iodide (KI)
4 ml of 0.01M Sodium Thiosulphate (Na2S203)
12 ml of Water (H20)
1 ml of Starch
This should all be mixed in a conical flask and then the following should be added together:
12 ml of 0.5M Sulphuric Acid (H2SO4)
12 ml of Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2)
The mixture turns blue due to the starch indicating the sudden presence of Iodine after the reaction has completely reacted.
Again I apologise for the very poor camera quality, it was on my cell phone and the first 30secs is just my mate shaking it to get it going. But you can kinda see what's going on...
OMG how did you build this in minecraft????
