@gmorl That "gibberish" is a simple fact. In the century before the Fed (1813-1913), the purchasing power of a US dollar actually increased. In 1913 it took only 62 cents to purchase what an 1813 dollar did. It now takes $25 to purchase what $1 did in 1913. The ONLY reason the dollar has any value is that for at least the last 40 years, we have forced the rest of the world to use US dollars to purchase oil. Look what happened to Iraq when they stopped accepting US dollars for oil.

@Erikrhino9 low interest rates reflect money is less valuable than your labor and less valuable than commodities, it reflects a correct hierarchy of values. Regarding the stability problem you have addressed, a better explanation how to solve this challenge can be found // 129.3.20.41 /eps/ge/papers/0306/0306001.pd

The purpose of the OccupyTheFed movement is to focus the attention of the occupywallstreet movement towards the head of the snake, the Federal Reserve System

Under Article 1 section 10 the U.S. Constitution states, "No State shall coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts." The Federal Reserve is allowed to violate the Constitution at the expense of the American people, literally, by printing money backed by nothing at all.

essential reading to know the truth:
“The Creature From Jekyll Island” by G. Edward Griffin “The Road to Serfdom” by Friedrich von Hayek
“Secrets of the Federal Reserve” by Eustace Mullins “What has our Country Done to our Money” by Murray N. Rothbard
For almost a century, the Federal Reserve has been bleeding the people’s wealth through inflation, debt, war, and the federal income tax.

4:36 can anyone explain how lowering interest rates makes matters worse? I thought high interest rates are the problem within a credit economy

@lvildos - Controlled interest rates do not reflect the reality of the marketplace. Artificially low interest rates cause bubbles, like the housing bubble whose bursting triggered the current mess. Artificially low interest rates reduce savings, thus reducing capital. Artificially low interest rates cause malinvestment and prevent the market from correcting misguided production caused by artificially low interest rates. Low interest rates destroy pension and retirement savings.
