Τον Ιούλιο του 2009, κατ' απαίτηση της Εκκλησίας, ο υπουργός Πολιτισμού κ. Σαμαράς και ο καθηγητής κ. Παντερμαλής αφαίρεσαν από ένα επίσημο βίντεο του Κώστα Γαβρά μερικές ελάχιστες εικόνες που αναφέρονταν πολύ ήπια και φευγαλέα στις καταστροφές που προκάλεσαν οι χριστιανοί στους Ναούς, τα αγάλματα και τα μνημεία των Εθνικών Ελλήνων.
A SCENE from an animated film at the new Acropolis Museum which shows christian priests destroying parts of the Parthenon has been deleted following protests by the Greek orthodox church.
As a protest against his film being censored, the creator of the segment, Greek-born French filmmaker Constantin Costa-Gavras, has demanded that his name be taken off the credits, according to this report.

Costa-Gavras told Greeces Mega TV channel:

"Priests used to destroy ancient temples. Now they want to remove scenes from a film. This is the kind (of censorship) that used to happen in the former Soviet Union."

Costa Gavras is not a Greek-born French-man.

He was born in Greece and at the age of 20 went to France. That does not make him French.

If I am 20 years old and go to China - when I will be 50 I am not going to be Chinese (even if I get Chinese passport).
