  • You talk about the north, the east and the south, but you didn't say anything about central Africa. Central African cooking is very authentic. I'm not sure if you don't know, or if you just chose not to say anything about central Africa because it supports your comment that west Africa has the most authentic food in Africa. But I believe your comment was not correct at all, and I personally am a little offended.

  • @kay2025 Hello Kay,

I'm sure you are not offended, please don't be. You see Africa's cuisine is enormous. As producer of the programme we had to work to a tight script. We did not set out to tell people everything about Africa's cuisnes, nor were we focusing on any specific regional cusines. We know of kwanga, pondu, fufu, etc. We will be happy to go into more specifics, but have or you can you get the funding? If you can, be sure that you have a deal and we can do more. God bless you.

  • very nice and informative

  • Thank you.

  • it is wrong to say that only west african food is authentic. All of africa's food is authentic and traditional in it's own way. You shouldn't say every african country is different and authentic so dont try to create a divide.

  • Hi,

Sorry you feel we are creating a divide, not all! It is true there are regional and individual differences, but these difference are due to external influences -North - Africa we find Arab influence, East Africa - we find Arab and Indian influence and Southern Africa Arab and European influence. This minimal European influence in West Africa thanks to the mosquito. Please watch the rest of the videos and our web. Will be happy to explain if you have any other questions.

    God bless you.

  • The lady is absolutely correct when she says west African food is very authentic. I'm an American who has tasted food dishes from various regions in Africa and in my opinion west African food is the most authentic. Without a doubt. It's also very very delicious.

  • Eating our own foods from our roots, isn't only healthy, but it makes us learn to eat properly instead of eating those junk foods which is leading into our grave.

We must eat more and more of our foods instead of eating these crap burgers, fries, chocolates, fried chicken and also these fatty fizzy drinks full of sugar.

  • I am a Liberian living in the U.S. and the founder of a non-profit org, call Relief, Inc. This video very informative and would like to know how my organization can get a copy.

  • Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. Please, it is not intended to marginalise any one of us. It is simply a historical fact that the South East, South and North Africa are areas where the cuisine had been heavily influenced by Asian, European and Arab culinary repertoir. Space would not allow me to go into detail. Thanks again

  • i think the video is very well done, you dont see many educational materials talking about african cuisine, however i would disagree with the notion that west african cuisine is the most "authentic" out of the entire continent, out of all of the south east and north the west african nation have the most "authentic cusine"?.... hmm i think that marginalizes alot of us who arnt west africans, but deeply feel very african as well. i think having diversity in food is possitive not a negative thing.
