I don't know whether to appreciate Amitabh Bacchan or Abhishek Bacchan for this movie...Both of them simply rock...Awesome movie...One of the best of the best of Abhishek Bacchan..

Also, Dharmatma was a remake of Godfather by Firoz Khan (R.I.P) because he had seen it in the US and wanted the Indian audience to see the story. And the Godfather was originally a book anyway and lots of films have been made from books.

Yes it is. It is also loosely based on Raj/Bal Thackeray's lives. If you notice, he does some similar things like the beads and the type of wave to the public.

This not a movie based on true story. It is an Indian version of the 1972 Hollywood Blockbuster The Godfather. In this amitabh plays the character which was played by Marlon Brando and Abhishek Plays the same character which was played by Al Pacino.
