World renown conservationist George Schaller, one of the first to look at gorillas from a modern, scientific perspective, gives a recount of his experiences and an outlook on the future and obstacles of gorilla conservation. A must-see!
Very informative video. These beautiful animals are certainly worthy of our conservation efforts. However, I disagree with GS that these gorillas are "our close relatives" If any of my relatives were swinging from a tree it would have been from the neck.
GS has got to be one of the supreme heroes of the last 100 years. It saddens me that only 596 people have watched this video when silly entertainment vids get hundreds of thousands of hits. Sort of indicative of what the world's priorities are. What can you do? I donate small amounts of money to organizations that Schaller works for -Panthera and WCS. We could also join carefully chosen ecotourism activities like the one he mentioned in Rwanda. 2010-2020 to be the "last decade" for animals?

There is a lot of important information in this video. Kudos to Rwanda for promoting the saving of the habitat and gorillas.
