Well, it's the end of another format, so like last year, I'll be talking about the deck I used in the format.

So even in the absence of Sabers, GB really scrubbed out at worlds. But I have high hopes for us next format.

Here are some plays with Glads:
1. Summon Prisma, dump Bestiari, special Tiger, tag for Darius, ss Besti, tag for Gyzarus.
2. Set Respite when you want Besti out and they have no backfield, hit Respite, Equeste it later. Remember that losing a GB card is a semi-minus 1 for the opponent because it's just a matter of time before you Equeste.
3. When you're going for Herk and have a spare GB on the field, tag into Murmillo and destroy one of your GBs. Make your other tag an Equeste to get that GB back. That way you have Herk and an extra Herk bullet in hand, rather than Herk and an extra GB on field.
4. Summon Rescue Cat, use priority on its effect, chain Torrential Tribute to destroy your opponent's monsters, then resolve Rescue Cat's effect and ss your double Samnites.
5. Set Hoplomus and set War Chariot.
6. Summon a Glad with E-Con in hand. Do not fear their Bottomless.
7. When about to book an opponent's monster to attack it, wait until the battle step AFTER the window for cards like DPrison and Mirror Force.
8. Put Herk in defense mode against Gadget Machinas and that is pretty much game. Their only out is pretty much Divine Wrath, if they side that.
9. When you have four monsters and are using Secutor's effect, Secutor summons one Glad and destroys another. Therefore, destroy a Glad and keep Equeste in for Secutor. Then you can Equeste back the Glad you destroyed that very same Battle Phase.
10. Side triple Crow, triple Effect Veiler, triple Hanewata just for the lulz on Frogs.
11. Know your rulings. You need to go through damage calculation for the tag to work. You can use Glad effects with Skill Drain on the field if you Book it. You can't use Cat with DFissure out, but you can use Tiger. You can use the effect of the monster ss'd by Darius if Darius leaves the field or is Booked before the effect resolves. Countertraps (Chariot) work in the damage step. Mind Crush can stop Battle Fader. Royal Oppression lets you tag in, but can stop a tag out. The list is endless...but you should know your rulings.

My understanding of GBs and Yugioh is not by my own brilliance but because of the excellent players who have shaped my thinking.

Special thanks to: Jake Mattern, Dan LaMartina, Adam Corn, Erin Diaz, Jake Johnson, Kris Ferber, and Garon, without whom I would be a total scrub.

  • u look awkward when u hold yugioh cards like your not used 2 holding yugioh cards

  • @ayezzy55 It's awkward because I'm doing everything with one hand while holding a camera in the other. Try it for yourself, you'll see how hard it is.

  • i miss YuGiOh :(

  • Haha dats true, im watching dis in october 2011.

  • Haha your right, they later did ban Rescue cat haha.

  • It's good that you let the tactics and knowledge of the best shape how you play.

Unlike that losers who are like: "IM SO COOL I USE DIS DECK I MAED" but then get the shit beaten out of them.
