Part 2

Lamenting the loss of a Family Centered Christian Themed Amusement Park called Heritage USA.

With pictures and ambient music I want to take you on a short journey of memories...reflecting on the mutability of life. Nothing in this life stays the same. All is subject to loss, decay, and dissolution.

Heritage USA is no exception. Once a place where men, women, and children could gather and have wholesome family fun and entertainment with a religious standard of decency is now a forgotten wasteland, choked with weeds and haunted by shades of what once was.

Many of the buildings that you see in ruins are now no longer there. They live on only in memory and photos. Almost NOTHING remains of the one beautiful grounds of the Theme Park that was the heartbeat of the PTL network.

The new owners of the property maintain the main Hotel but all else has been allowed to decay. The large Disney type castle you see has been ravaged by low life vandals and is almost beyond salvaging.

  • Being in a hurricane prone area, The Barn should have had a metal roof on it. Its a prime example of how quick these buildings were erected without much thought. The Bakkers were larger than life and the money poured in and its a shame how everything turned out. I visited this place in the 80s and I seem to recall everything was expensive. It was a fun place though with alot of things to do for a teen. Who didnt wanna stay in that tower? I still wanna sleep in that thing!

  • @chazoh27

Yeah it was expensive wasn't it? But in the 80s a lot of people had money to blow if I remember.

It was a better environment than Disney though to be sure. I went to Disney World and you never saw a bigger bunch of Freaks. There was a woman in line next to me COVERED in Tattoos, cussing to make a Marine blush, wearing flip flops and a VERY skimpy outfit that was all the more horrible to look at seeing she was very obese.

And YES that 500 room tower would have been COOL!

  • I thank you for this. It was a tragic ending. You have been so kind to allow these videos.

  • @LASZLOBOY1

It was tragic. Have you checked out cincinnatigifts 1987-88 H USA videos? They bring back memories. The links are above.

  • I remember performing a drama act on that stage in the late 90's

  • @speedfreak2442

    What was the Drama Act?

  • I wonder what tammy thinks when she looks down (or up) on this?

  • I look at this video and see the places that I visited back in the 80's that are now rotting to the ground...it's surreal. I remember this place being FULL of people and completely different from this...and it really was quite a sight to see even though I was not religious at all back then (I went to Heritage with my parents! LOL) It's such a shame that something like this was just let go...left to rot. What a waste!

  • @chazoh27 I was there too...yes, it was expensive!

  • Really enjoyed the video, the music was perfect. Thanks for sharing.

  • @ElAlegreHombre We should call you ignorant :)

  • A HUGE monument to greed and stupidity

  • What you idiots who love Jim Bakker fail to see is that the same bible that he uses to get your money states quite clearly, that the vipers who use God's name for profit are actually working in a "Den of Thieves" . Just goes to show that not much has changed since the days where Jesus overturned the tables in anger over the Bakker's of those days.

  • Jim Bakker seems to be doing well now,I watch the Jim Bakker show on TCT from time to time... I still love him.. I don't agree with everything he's doing, but I think he means well.
