You spent more time showing your trip up the stairs than you did showing the room. Dumb.

We took the Zephyr to Chicago then hopped on the Cardinal to Baltimore. It was a round trip in first class bedrooms. I've uploaded vids if you want to take a look. Thanks for a great video!

@tenor175 wow you're from pasco? I'm taking the amtrak from pasco, wa too soon. I'm excited!

I have always wanted to take a trip on Amtrack. It seems trains are becoming a thing of the past:(

Yeah that would make sense because I would think the cars would be the same length. Unless the superliners had wider isles or something.
I will be traveling in another month to Sedalia, MO via Amtrak from Pasco, WA.....I got a room booked to Chicago and Business Class from Chicago to Sedalia.....I always loved the trains, and as a little boy growing up in KC, my Grandfather worked for Sante Fe as an egineer! How cool is that??? :)

@tenor175 Have a fun trip! I still haven't gotten to ride out west yet. On my todo list though.

Trains will never become a thing of the past, they can get up and go much quicker than airplanes. But only on shorter routes. I think sleeper cars, and the likes, will quickly become phased out. I think that right now people travel long distances on trains for more novelty than anything else. With the way this world is headed, novelty will be forgotten and speed will replace it.

You might be right here in the U.S. and there is a bit of novelty, but sleeper passengers also tend to be older. Also, less hassles getting on a train than a plane.

Cool I've never been on a superliner sleeping car but I've been on Viewliners. I think the viewliner roomettes are just a little bit lager because they have a toilet.

I've not ridden on a viewliner, but according to Amtrak, they are the same width, but the viewliner roomette is 2 inches longer. They say the lower berth is the same in both. Doesn't make sense that the room is the same width .. I've heard people in the Amtrak Unlimited forums say the viewliner is more spacious.
