Well, Maynard seems to be doing a pretty damn good job at staying out of the lime light if you ask me. He's probably not someone I'd want to meet IRL cuz I'd feel obliged to tell him how much he's influenced and changed my life, yet I know he'd probably backhand me away lolllll, but I respect HIS decision. Some people don't want fame. That's their choice. Let them explore and express their art in peace.

That being said, I should also mention that the way he treats his fans might be similar to the way he treats radio djs or MTV interviewers only because majority rules that people are dumb, stupid and susceptible to acting like retards around people who are famous. I would treat assholes the same way Maynard does.

So what you're suggeting is: Either put up with the fans and the fame or don't play music? What kind of message is that? I can't count my blessings enough to have the opportunity and priviledge to have Maynard's beautiful music and lyrics at my disposal! Thank GOD he does music.

If that's NOT what you're suggesting, then it's entirely up to Maynard to decide how he treats his fans. He's NOT a people person, but he IS a musical genius. That's how he is.

@DrunkenLeprechaunPro i know that!everybody knows maynard's ''way'',when he protecs his privacy its just stupid to pretend to have a normal life and have a famous band, its just wrong to try to fight media and fans, if you want to be famous ,if you want to share your art with millions well theres a price to pay and the price is your personal life , period, so deal with it an swallow it, have you heard about any unknown famous singer?...just the sentence seens to make no sense(sorry my english)

What you have to understand is that Maynard is a self-admitted reclusive individual. He's just NOT a people person. He's aware that he's not always the most lovely or joyous person to be around. That belongs to him, he doesn't owe anyone anything.

If people are dicks, Maynard will be a dick. That being said, people like his band members, Patton Oswalt, Milla Jovovich, Eric Glomski... have nothing but good things to say about him. I respect him just the same.
