You are wrong. Rafi isnot a good singer. He could sing medium and top voice when it comes to base he killed many songs. But Yesudas only can sing all voice levels. Rafis greatest hits very silly comparing Yesudas's in many languages

You are again wrong russelindia, rafi is the best in singing in high notes I agree but when singing in base he is not good as yesudas or kishore. yesudas has the best range, the best voice and the best classical base along with singing in multiple languages in which he supersedes both rafi and kishore. Again Yesudas won the most national awards (7 times) in India followed by him is SPB Balasubramanium (6 times), rafi only got once, kishore not even once. mind that all were contemparories.

Hi friends,to compare two legends always been an interesting one but we all know it is wrong. Anyway I want to tell something about Rafi Sahab's voice. Singing is always at its best when it is felt that a singer is not singing but a character of a story is singing. One and only male singer in India who could do this was Rafi Sahab, and this is only why all other singers admired him. Same with Lataji in female singers, she is also only one in this field.

@russelindia As you said...Yesudas admires Rafi ...but thats why he is KJ Yesudas ..his humilty surpasses any other legend in this era. Rafi was a great Singer..but KJY is GOD's VOICE PERSONIFIED.

Just look at the admirers he has outside his own mother tongue that indicates that his voice is universally accepted. i am not sure if other have every achieved or can achieve the same disinction... 7 National Awards also mean that he can Sing...and those days awards couldnt be brought in stores!!!

@malsakd My dear friend , Rafi only sung 7600 Songs in his life time, he is reluctant to sing in other languages because he believes there is no point in singing in any other language without knowing the language properly.... Number of songs doesn't shows a singer is great or not... Rafi Sir is definitely a great singer...ever great... but why should we compare him with Yesudas....please enjoy the music ....
