I feel that it loses it's effect because it is spinning. When I have to look at it from 100s of different angles at once, it gets kind of hard to recognize what it's doing.

OH come on, "great"? Don't you think that's a little over the top?
You might as well have said "amazing" or "awesome" too.
The sound is interesting at best, and eventually irritating if you're stuck with it.
