I re-wrote this song (w/ a happy ending) and covered it (vocally) and plan on giving to who I hope will become my girlfriend. I knew her from school, but after graduation, I lost contact with her. I recently caught back up with her through work. I remember listening to Green Day around the time we were in High School and this song in particular was my favorite at the time. This song kinda speaks about losing contact with someone, which is what happened with me. I'm hoping she'll like my cover.

This really reminds me of my ex. She really liked me, and I really liked her, but she just couldn't keep up with her school work and such. So she had to dump me. At the time, I had no idea why she did, until her friend told me about the school problem. And I felt really bad, because I kind of went off on her immediately after we broke up, and didn't talk to me for weeks. Now she will occasionally will talk to me, but not like she used too... I really miss her.
