Every single control on a DJM-800 is midi mappable, right down to the fader start buttons etc?

you don't need a soundcard that has midi. check out maudio midi to usb. i use that to hook up my old midi keyboard to my laptop

In Ableton, may be better to get a VCM-600 or APC40, def. alot less of weight to carry around. Hopefully Pioneer picks up things and makes a mixer that has more midi controlles.
