@itsgoyanks Erlich predicted mass starvation and all sorts of calamities in the end of the 20th century in America. he predicted the prices of commodities would skyrocket, etc. He gets "promoted" in academia land. On the other hand Rev Camping famously "predicted" the end of the world on May 21st of this year. It did not happen. But he is ridiculed. What do you think is the difference between the two?? Look it up.
@itsgoyanks Kudos to Jeter's 3000th. "There is a certain point when doubling of the population will not be sustainable. " Your worries were essentially encapsulated in a book "The Population Bomb" written around 30 years ago by Paul Erlich, an entomologist (studies bugs). Bottom line, he was wrong. One cannot extrapolate conclusions of an experiment using beetles or bacteria because the world we live in is infinitely more complex than the laboratory. He was just recently "promoted".
Friedman: the pro-corporate globalization cheerleader and liberal warmonger. Doesn't he realize that his rah rah rah predictions have been way off? Oh yeah, he won't acknowledge that in this new books.
He lost all credibility when he quoted Al Gore.

@teacherhendrix
You ask that as if winning a Pulitzer means you can't be a hack. Which isn't really true, is it.
