just a test of the new camera at low res, using the sculpture as a subject...
THE SCULPTURE: done in Van Aken modeling clay, sculpted around a wire armature I made from things lying around. The marbling effect? Accidental...I am supposedly a mechanic by trade, and we mechanical types have what is known as "permadirt" in our skin...clay tends to take out whatever impurities are present...the clay model is soon to have a mold made from it, from which two wax figures will be cast. A "green sand" mold will then be made from the wax model after fine details are added...from there, bronzes will be cast using the lost wax method. The pieces will be for sale, as a set. The original clay piece, the extra wax copy, the plaster/silicone mold, and the finished bronze.
Pricing to be set after bronze is finished and patina applied.
The music for this video is SUPPOSED to be Chopin's Nocturne #2 in E....but instead, there's some strange happy sounding thing playing in the background...
I'm just full of surprises, huh? :P
I finally got a wax cast of it, and was ready to do the final stuff....but...uhm...someone knocked it off a table and broke it. I think I'm going to go back and just add some kinda robe to this chick and try again...
