  • Ihave one exactly like that, same color same year everything, i never hoped to see one, i´m restoring it right now...an excelent job, has inspired me to work on mine, now that i know what i am going to get...congratulations.

  • Jose, Please email me - I know who holds some original GT380 brake master cylinders but I do not know exactly for which model. These are expensive, but one cannot take risks on safety! Good luck. Mike

  • This was my first street bike, My 380 had expansion chambers on it when I went to buy it, but had the guy to put the original pipes back on it. That bike would beat Honda 450s easily. My bike may have been modified before i bought it. I remember running it up to 115 miles per hour, people always commented on how sweet it sounded going down the highway. Great bike I miss it.

  • Bgone2 - I think you must have had a modified one, or the speedo was way out! I have clocked 100 a few times (when much younger and more reckless) on this GT380 but 115 not a chance, need a Kettle for that! I'm doing up an A model right now that easily runs more than that. Cheers, Mike

  • Nice one. Had a silver 380M back in 75, restoring a B and am going to paint it silver. Wont ever look as good as yours though.

  • This 77 came in an unusual colour and stripes, restored now to how it was when I bought it 1 owner, ex-dealer in 78. Glen at Cleveland Bike Spray did the paint. He can obtain the perfect colour, flakes and stripes for your bike too. SEP did the motor, and Menston Metal the chome. I did the rest which included sourcing parts over 4 years. Good luck!

  • very nice bike sounds great.

  • @hopsyeadon I see, thanks for the insite, I was wondering if it was around the clutch basket that the noise on mine is coming from. any suggestions as to what exactly and how to fix it? Loose springs in the clutch, or maybe something rubbing on the cover? Just trying to get an idea as to what it could be. I'm new to these bikes but have learned so much for getting the one im working on running. I bet I could tear apart the carbs and set the up in my sleep thanks again.

  • @fatrat440 -ah, you know, I too couldn't believe the noise on the video. Hate to disappoint, but it sounds totally sweet and quiet of motor in real life. I did have an A model that did sound like a tin of sandy nails, but I sold that before it did something nasty. They really are sewing machine quite on idle and 90% of the noise is exhaust.

Noisey usually means clutch basket rattle, unless its top end which you will hear as an obvious rattle! good luck

  • Very nice, I see your engine had the same sound as the one I've been working on. That makes me feel a bit better as I was not sure if it was supposed to be that loud. not the exhaust but the engine itself.
