Bill Brown, pioneer of Amateur Radio High-Altitude Ballooning (ARHAB), talking to attendees just before launch of 4 payloads, 2 of his, 1 from the Univ. of Akron, and 1 from Taylor Univ.
Launch weather was perfect, and all 4 payloads were recovered later in the day.

Recorded off my cell phone. Low audio as I was 10 feet from him. I recorded just as he began hsi speech with "Four score and, oh about 4 days from now...". He holds up the first payload he ever launched on Aug 15, 1987 (his birthday) and discusses the ATV (Amateur Television) payload that has gone up 20 times iver the course of the last 20 years. He talked about how it survuved a 100 mph plunge into a sand dune after nearly colliding with a plane chasing the payload, remarking about how he was seeing all the landmarks the ATV payload was showing, and seeing an airplane wing before it buzzed by him. It was recovered by a helicopter that was once used on the TV Show "Magnum PI".
