For me it is one of greatest and most impressive performance in history of the Rag. 3. Specially the cadence in the first movement is really unbelievable. Also the strong emotions in the second movement are played with a dark intensity with a strong dead atmosphere. Nicolsky was a brilliant musician but also a tragic personality (I like to compare him with the violinists Josef Hassid and Christian Ferras). Alcohol and a car accident killed him a few years ago too young.

Thank you very much for sharing this incredibly video! We have to look urgently for a video of the whole performance because I remember it me as one of greatest and most impressive performance in history of the Rag. 3.
