Guinea Pig Hair Cut Part II (American Silkie or Sheltie)

Grooming a long haired guinea pig can be difficult and time consuming. I used to try a scissor hair cut however using a proper hair shaver and a professional can get you the results you want for your guinea pig. You can even create your own style for your guinea pig. Watch this 4 part video of Lois getting her hair cut for the second time. Lois is an American Silkie or Sheltie and a little over 2 years old. Her hair was about 4.5 inches in length in some parts before the haircut. The style that we chose for Lois is what we call a lion mane which has very short hair on the back and longer hair around the face. What's interesting about her hair is that multiple strands grow from one root. Watch the proper way of cutting a long haired guinea pig.
