A parent social hosting for teens, for any reason, is unacceptable. Social host "a person who furnishes another with alcohol in a social setting..."
1/4 of parents have allowed their teen to drink while under their supervision.
During a six month period, parents on average supply alcohol to their teen three times. By supplying alcohol to teens, parents are sending the message that drinking illegally is okay.
Drinking can lead to serious issues for teens and families: alcoholism, alcohol poisoning, impaired driving, depression, sexual promiscuity, date rape, unwanted pregnancy, serious injury, coma and death.
