How to get the max hits:

Between hitting the initial hit, and before she starts charging to do the followup hits (from hit #2 onward) you need to alternate between the buttons as fast as possible to charge the super. The way the game counts a button press is as individual buttons only. From what I have gathered, all buttons (A,B,C,D,E) will count toward charging the super however pressing 2 or 3 buttons at once will only count as one button press. So if you are mashing on a button that is assigned to A+B+C it will only count as 1 button press. Spinning the joystick or shaking it back and forth does not count toward charging the super so what you want to do is figure out some technique to use BOTH HANDS on the buttons to quickly alternate your buttons presses before the followup to the super comes out.

I never thought about it till now, I think Akane & Saki are similar for they both use their legs and also that super combo when they kick their opponents in the air and lightning kick.

Yeah I agree Akane is a really SUGOI fighter and my num#1 fav out of all of them.
