Sarah's Diary: New Denver

We stayed in New Denver on Wednesday night. Thank you to all the kind people who picked us up.

New Denver is such a beautiful place. No big hotels, fast food etc. Some people want it to stay that way, so they told us to tell everyone the name of the lake is Christina Lake.

  • haha Im from new denver and that cell phone comment is too funny...its a big deal here. my phone hasnt been turned on for almost a month now since Ive been back... except I take it with me to nakusp so I can catch up on texts haha.

  • You are so lucky, I loved New Denver. Swimming in that lake was one of the highlights of my 6 months in Canada.

  • Did you know that 49 creek was named after the gold rush of 1849??? I panned for gold in that creek when i was a kid! There's also good fishing in that creek.

Rover creek to. Your videos of Nelson, and area bring back memories...

  • No, I didn't know that. That's interesting. Did you find any gold? The area I grew up in was famous for mining too (the Coromandel, New Zealand) and we used to pan for gold using woks ... it was fun. We usually saw a few flakes of gold.

  • Lol at 3:37 I know the person in that truck.

  • I pass through all those landmarks and areas everytime I go to new denver to stay with my grandma, awesome place, love the like, excellent little town.

  • I loled.

  • What's the wonderful music that's played in the background? Is it San Sebastian's mellow, Final Beat? The artist's MySpace site doesn't seem to feature the music. Is there anywhere I can download it?

  • I just found your video. I was just in new denver yesterday for the Garlic Festival,,,5000 people, candles, food music,,massage, stained glass, jewelry,,,well you get the picture. It was great. My friend kris and i took out mbira's into the Japanese garden , south end of town, and played music by the lake. I live in the slocan valley a mile south of the tipi poles on the back road. Cheers

  • New Denver is sooo beautiful! My cousin lives there and I go up every year. It's absolutely amazing there.
