What is a Vegan

Most people know that what a vegan is, however when interviewing tourists at San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf, they were stupefied by the word.

No one is better than anyone for doing it. If you feel better about yourselves great. But hating meat eaters who actually seem happy and not pissed off at the world is not going to change anything either. If its your choice, go for it..but you would be doing greater goods if you worked at an animal rescue of shit that is endangered or something with real purpose. As for health, if yall think it is healthier to divert from what we are originally designed to do...then mush on!

All I would like to add also is that God gave us animals just as much as he gave us plants and trees. They were given to us as a gift and have actually been sacrificed for religious purposes since the beginning of "us". Now, I do not agree with all that completely, but if its about being in tuned with earth, the animals, and Karma, then people should understand that everything is alive and corn is grown just as chickens are. Sick, but true.

The word itself was coined by Donald Watson after reading books on the ancient practice of Ahimsa. Unfortunately now a days people associate it with a special diet/lifestyle. Veganism is not just a diet. I'm vegan to be in harmony with the Universe. I know and understand that what I do while in this planet, has a karmatic reaction of immeasurable ramifications. Ergo, I try to avoid the exploitation of the earth and all it's living beings. I live with Karma.

i mean, until they make supplements that are real, i will not agree with us flip-flopping spots on the food chain knowing that it won't change a damn thing for either of you. there are plenty of other ways to live well and cruelty free. to me, this is like walking into the gulf with a bloody leg. just my thoughts. sorry if i offended anyone.

why did they mostly ask over weight people? to prove some point?. i have seen fat vegans too and they are even uglier because they all lose their hair or it thins out, even women in early 20's. i mean, do what you want. the animals will be dying anyhow, i will not shorten my life for something so trivial as milk or eggs.

Unbelievable! I am staggered that so many of those people didn't have a clue - Why is this? Some had the right idea, vegetarianism, and the one woman who said they don't eat meat or cheese (I think she meant dairy in general but maybe she didn't), but ... my god! 4/5 stars
