That's a shame it had to poop out on you...Such a great smallblock V-8, and so well balanced. (Small details, but I've always liked the gold paint better...I guess it's just an Olds-lover's thing, huh?)
Did you put a new engine in your Cutlass, or does it still have the dead Rocket in it? Or did you manage to find something else?

I've still got the single exhaust headers and pipe on mine, but was thinking of getting the blockoff plate and some OEM dual Olds exhaust with rear bumper turndowns from The Parts Place, Inc. (I'm trying to go for a tad more stock look.)
However they do have cast true dual Olds headers availible...regardless I'm poor right now cause the semester started. Ah, time will tell.
Not a half bad sound with those Hooker headers and no pipes. (Really coming together, I'd say.) Did your Rocket die tho?

for hei ignition, where do you connect the green wire on the sunpro tach?

mybe i should try the hookers then, i bought a set of flowtech full length headers and a summit mini started and the would not fit in any way, the starter was smaller but i guess the way that the headerr tubes ran i couldnt boult them up, flowtech tells me the are the right headers and if it put the factory starter on they will work but its huge comapred to the summit, so i dont know what they are talking about
thanks for the reply

Is that a Rocket 350? I thought only the later model ones were painted blue... (Or is it a larger displacement Rocket?)

Yup it's the numbers matching date coded 1970 Olds 350 the car originaly came from the factory with. It was rebuilt by automotive tech in the early 90's in Fresno, or Concord and painted blue for some odd reason. When i first got the car i thought the same thing so i wrote down all the numbers from the block, carb, manifold etc everything and it's all 1970 Olds. To bad it had to die on me after i put it through the 10,000 mark, o well. : (

Im running Hooker long tubes with the original starter at the time this video was made, i kinda jump the rope with buying the Hitthe Mini starter cause all i really needed was a new positive line..... i never re routed the old one so it melted on my headers. But im pretty sure my old starter would of died so i bought the mini. it took awhile positioning it but everything fit just right along with the heat wrap not touchine whats ever.
