Rumors are very fast to spread.
I doubt that the one who came up with the death falsification theory knows more about Machiavelli than historians. He at least, should have given more detailed explanation why he concludes that.
Many actually believed that Bill Gates died recently, without any proof, but one internet site;)

oh thats a bit strange though don't you think? it is used as fact in all of the theories, so if some guy did just come up with it, it REALLY spread!
its weird because most of the theories have dates about when he faked his death but i checked it and all the sites about Machiavelli have him writing and going to jail in that period....not faking his death...

if he didn't fake his death than why are people saying he did......even if he did fake his death he wouldn't tell anyone that he faked his death. they would have to find out by themselves. maybe that's why historians haven't found any evidence on that particular subject.

So why homemade theorists know while none of historians does? Like you said that If he even did fake then NObody would have figured it out (neither of them)
In addition, those false historians claim that it is a well-known fact that Niccolo did it.
