why is the vacuum pump at the rear of the vehicle?

Cause that's where it fits. There is a vacuum canister under the drivers seat, so the vacuum pump could be anywhere. This truck is for sale... $8K (a steal!!!) on ebay. contact me if interested in knowing more.
