My Jeep Cherokee pulling a Jeep Wrangler

This is my Jeep Cherokee "the lil XJ that could" helping to pull out my friends Wrangler. The lil XJ that could seems to always end up with the towing/pulling-out duties lol.

All my XJ's have all had the stock open diffs. I always wanted to do a locker though.

I hate how people bash on the XJ, just because it doesn't look like the classic CJs... This one kid used to give me hell about mine before I had to pull his Dodge 1500 out of a mudhole, which I went through with ease.

'99 XJ Limited. 4.5L (punched out 4.0), Mopar Performance head and valve-train, long-duration high-lift cam, and 3.73 LSD. Detroit Lockers in both front and rear. Basically looks stock except I add a tasteful 1.5" lift.

@Sarcasticscum It's all good, different strokes for different folks. I am ok with everyone not liking the exact same thing. If everyone liked the XJ as well as TJ Wranglers and what not, then I would have never been able to afford the XJ's I have owned. I am ok with them being the "surprise sleeper" of the off road community if it means XJ's will stay affordable. Btw, your rig sounds really nice and well set up!

i love the xj's greatest vehicles out there i got an 89 laredo and i lifted it with 33's and i gotta buddy who has a wrangler who keeps talkin shit but wont hook up and pull or go boggin

Did your XJ have a locking diff or just the stock open diff? I'm only wondering cause I have a 95 XJ and I'm thinking of putting a locking diff in it.

Thankyou! The most challenging part was installing the AX-15 transmission.. The automatic tranny wouldn't shift with my cam setup, and I always wanted my XJ to be a 5-speed anyways..

@HenryInKC They're so awesome, i took it off road today in the snow and it can't be stopped, it even went up all the steep hills i took it on!

I am working on fixing minor things on it right now but eventually i want to get a rubicon express 3.5 inch superflex lift and put 31's on it
