I remember first playing this game back when I was still a kid in school. Its such a bitter sweet feeling to see this series come to an end. This is my tribute to a world without Snakes. This is actually the second version of the same video that I threw together in a single afternoon, but I fixed it up and made some of the cuts sharper, added some voices and extra scenes. If anyone knows how to get rid of the hissing, please let me know.

  • I fired up MGS4 last night and was immediately put off by what had to be a blatant smack in the face to Fallout 3's amazing intro. I can hear the voice at the beginning whispering "War never changes..."

As soon as MGS4 manages to get over itself long enough to play an intro, the first words I hear are "War has changed..." As if it weren't bad enough, it was done in a narrative fashion almost exactly like Fallout 3's intro - it even ends the way it begins! With the words "War has changed..."

  • @jvthatsme I think Snake was talking about a different aspect of war than the Fallout 3 guy. The guy in Fallout was talking more about how war always has death, and in that aspect, it never changes. Snake was talking about how the way war is fought has changed. It wasn't always nanomachines and information control. In that aspect, for Snake, war has most certainly changed.

  • Very nicely done. I would have been nice if you added in the famous last words "This is good... isn't it?", and i would recommend offically making the name of this "A world without snakes." It's the perfect name for this tribute. Other than that this is far exceeds perfect!

  • Thanks! I used that quote in another video though lol Check my other MGS tribute

  • i hate how people dont like this game because its not a run and gun shooter just stick to COD but if you wanna play good games play this game theres actually a point to it!!!

  • i'll miss you snake.

  • @jvthatsme MGS4's intro was nothing like fallout 3's other then that one quote being a bit similar, and they both repeat it a few times.

  • Peüple need heros.. a legend.. that would never die..

  • Am I going to die?

Everyone dies... you can't... stop it... you can't... runaway from it

  • Dude, I love your tributes v.v Soo good and full of emotion and you freakin' pull the strings on my heart good work and again this is why you should not give up

  • @DanteLeonhart Close, in fallout 3 it meant that war, war itself never changes... meaning that there will always be wars... in metal gear 4 war has changes mostly refered to how war is waged and WHY...

  • @jvthatsme 1. MGS4 came out before.

    2. How can you even compare the two? Fallout is a great game, but it's just a mindless killing for mutants and raiders. Of course "was never changes". The Metal Gear universe is completely different, soldiers are not their own, and everything is controlled by the system, can't even hold a gun if you don't have the proper nanomachines. War, has in fact.. changed.

  • @jvthatsme AKA mister uninformed

fallout 3 was released AFTER mgs4

  • @jvthatsme i have another interpretation of what snake meant when he said war has changed. when he said war has changed, snake was echoing boss's thoughts that in the past, the people fighting in war fought out of loyalty to their country and to their ideals. however, in the 21st century war has merely become a tool to drive the economy. the men who fought in wars no longer believe in any ideals nor do they have any loyalties (they are after all, mercenaries).
