Hit Single by UK band, Hudson Ford, not long after they left the Strawbs. John Ford and Richard Hudson went on to form UK punk band, The Monks which had more hits, "Nice Legs Shame About The Face," on Bad Habits and "Suspended Animation." BurnBabyBurn, was one of the first environmental "Green" songs, an "oil spill" song, if there ever was one. Referenced by villainess, Cassandra in Dr. Who - "The End of The World," episode.

  • Brings back great memories from when I was a kid.

  • I always thought the verses didn't go with the chorus. It needed a more upbeat rocky feel to the verse riff...

  • Thanks for uploading great song great group in there day!

  • I was not usually a fan of records at this time in 1974 but this was one of the exceptions.

These days you might think that it was an early attempt to convey a message about global warming.

If you can get the complete version, (the you tube version cuts out before the end!)increase the volume as it fades - it is mind blowing - I love the pounding of the same line accompanied by a fantastic vocals and guitar.

  • Dig this song man! it means somethink more then ever today

  • What's happening with the website, it's been down for weeks!

  • Hudson & Ford contributed some amazing songs for the STRAWBS, let alone great songs like this, and the Beautiful "Floating in the Wind". I found out recently that they were part of the 80's Vaudevillian retro band 'HIGH SOCIETY', who's 1981 album was given it's first CD release in 2009. The 7" was the fab "I NEVER GO OUT IN THE RAIN' !
