For our first video project, our focus was on Lab 2 (plant lab. We showed the evolutionary adaptations of plants due to the properties of water. Our goal with the video was to show our viewers what exactly these adaptations are and give them insight into plant anatomy. Also, we wanted to show how a plants specific adaptation relates to where they grow. We listed some of these adaptations which include hair, seeds, waxy cuticle, and thorns. During this lab, we filmed footage of us with the cactus and the African violet, while describing there specific evolutionary adaptations. This footage was part of our video, as well as several photos of other plants.
Water in nature is a supplier of life, but it is also a selective pressure, in which plants have to adapt to in order to survive. All of the characteristics listed above are adaptations of the plants anatomy in order to be best fit to acquire a sufficient amount of water.
